The Forest Defender

Amazonic is FACRP's educational mascot and storytelling vehicle — a character born from the biodiversity and heritage of Trinidad's forests. Rooted in the Fondes Amandes hillsides, Amazonic speaks to children, youth, and communities in a language they love: vivid, locally-rooted narrative.

Through books, events, school visits, and online media, Amazonic delivers powerful messages about fire prevention, protecting endangered species, and celebrating the unique ecology of Trinidad & Tobago.

Born from the Hillsides of St. Ann's

Amazonic was created as part of FACRP's commitment to reaching beyond the forest floor and into the hearts and minds of the next generation. In a world saturated with digital content, Amazonic cuts through by offering something authentically Caribbean — a hero who looks like the land, speaks to its people, and fights for its survival.

The character draws on the rich biodiversity of the Fondes Amandes watershed — the leatherback turtles, the pawi birds, the giant earthworms, and the endemic plant species that call this hillside home — and gives them a defender with a voice.

Amazonic's story is ultimately the story of FACRP itself: a community that refused to let its forest burn, and built something extraordinary from the ashes.
